HESSTON, PA - Ritchie Fitz picked up his first ever Hesston Speedway Richies Well Drilling PA 305 Sprint main Saturday night at Hesston Speedway.
Other new winners on Dively’s Auto Body trophy night include Tim Fedder in the George’s Used Cars Limited Late Models, Bill Heffner in the Sheffield’s Auto Sales Street Stocks and Leroy Long in the Goshorn Racing Supplies Four Cylinders. The only repeat winner was Joe Dearmitt in the Dively’s Auto Parts Hobby Stocks.
The sprint cars hit the track with Tommy Beavers taking the lead at the green with Johnny Hagen sitting in the second spot. As the race went on Ritchie Fitz was headed to the front after starting 10th. The race was slowed on lap
14 when Ryan Hanagen spun and Jeremy Quick collided with him and ended up upside down. The restart saw Beavers continuing to set the pace with Fitz moving to second. On lap 17 Fitz took to the outside and passed Beavers in the third and fourth turns. Once out front it was up to Beavers to keep Hagen in third. At the waving of Gary Deem’s checkered flag it was Fitz taking the win with Beavers, Hagen, Dusty Shatzer and Tom Worrick completing the top five. Tommy Beavers, Johnny Hagen and Rob Mellot won the preliminary races.
