Forestville, PA – July 16, 2006 Big Diamond Raceway held a special winged warrior program this past Sunday evening. ‘Sideways Sunday’ sponsored by Mark’s Mechanical treated fans to a Sprint-Car show on a warm and beautiful evening.
Tommy Beavers grabbed the lead of the PA 305 Sprint-Car main event on the opening circuit. Beavers, making his first ever visit to Big Diamond, raced as if he had competed there throughout his entire racing career.

“This makes the trip worthwhile” mentioned the Virginia based driver. “I love this place. I wish we could race here every week. We changed a bunch of stuff on the race car when we got here, and the car just ran great. It was like driving a caddilac.”

Craig Myers likewise raced successfully and drove in the second position from green through checkered. Randy Kaylor (Manheim) throttled the Don Barnett owned machine to a third place finish. Dusty Shatzer, a former Micro Sprint competitor out of Hagerstown MD, finished fourth. Joey Biasi Jr. (Mary-D PA), a past BDR racer, returned to his old stomping grounds with a fifth place finish in the Stametz Racing #3B machine. Biasi also competed in the Super Sportsman race and finished seventh.
