Saturday night Port Royal Speedway announced the first details of the "Blue Collar Classic" to be held October 6th at the speedway. The event is intended to build into an annual celebration of divisions that are focused on affordable racing for the average person.
The headlining event will be our own Keystone RaceSaver® Challenge. A 25 lap feature paying $750 to win with $250 to 24th position. In addition PRS is inviting sponsors to contribute contingency prizes to be distributed throughout the field especially to offset travel costs and reward travel.
This represents a rare move for PRS in that the track does not normally operate past Labor day. The staff at PRS is working with us to establish this as a special event each year so in order to measure our anticipated attendance we will be requiring a $50 pre-registration. A $30 pit pass will be included for those who register before September 15th, we’re also hoping to obtain a registration sponsor to include a gift certificate with your registration when you arrive at the speedway. Depending on pre-registrations a B-main with a full purse may also be added but PRS has committed that non-qualifiers will receive elevated tow money due to travel.
Another incentive for early registration will be that there will be 4 guaranteed starters selected in registrations placed by August 15th. One from each of the top registering regions and one for the longest distance traveled.
Complete registration details will be available soon as preliminary details were worked out Friday and details must be finalized. Keep an eye on pasprintseries.com
