Over $1000 in door prizes were distributed at the meeting from PANCHOS Racing Products along with coupons from Ron Aurand Web design.
22 Teams were on hand for our annual meeting at the Red Zone Bar and Grill Saturday. The annual presentation began with an explanation of a difficult season in which Regional Director Tom Worrick underwent heart surgery and considered retirement. Worrick was on hand and it was announced that Tom would continue in his role as regional director. Also teams were informed about the topics discussed at our recent meeting with local promoters and French Grimes.
Some other important changes were announced around reducing the workload for Worrick who has teched every engine in the 15 year history of the series. Dave Ort was on hand and has volunteered to begin doing engine tech and has been approved by French Grimes. Ort lives in Mechanicsburg and will begin doing tech once he has completed training with Grimes. Also it was announced that there will be a designated point man for Port Royal, Susquehanna and Lincoln which alleviates the need any one person to staff every race as well as giving these tracks a single point of contact. This all fits into a long term plan which allows the ability for managed growth in Central PA.
once again the presentation outlined series objectives for new and existing teams and reviewed the expected schedule for 2014 along with some examples of accountability within the series and it's volunteers.
The meeting wrapped up with 3 specific topics of conversation that were discussed specifically followed by any questions that attendees had. After the meeting teams that wished to remain participated in a presentation on sponsorship by Scott Still of The American Motorsports Marketing Group, LLC and was well received.
Complete meeting minutes will be published on the team section of the PASS web site later this week and new teams interested in the series can find us at the Farm Show flea market this weekend.
