The PA Sprint Series kicked off its 17h year of RaceSaver racing with an exciting win by a 14 year Veteran of the series. Nathan Gramley started with PASS in 2001 and has picked up numerous wins in his career but never picked up a win at “the speed palace” (Port Royal Speedway) just a few miles from his Hometown of Lewistown PA.
Until last night.
Gramley was challenged early but Tyler Reeser following several restarts and settled into a good run making some distance from second place Cory Thorton. A red flag for Rookie Brad Mellot stopped the race with just 2 laps to go while 2014 Port Champ Jeff Miller had moved into second position. Gramley was able to hold off Miller for the final 2 circuits to earn his first win at Port Royal and the first ever IMCA sanctioned event for the series. Miller came across second while Thorton continued his impressive run with a personal best 3rd place finish followed by Scott Ellerman and Bill Jones Jr.
Sixth through 10th went to Zach Newlin, Jake Waters, Ken Duke, Cale Reigle and James Pryde.
